Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Transport, Electricity and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA), which rose 1.62% or 0.080 points to trade at 5.030 at the close. DO & Co AG (IS:DOCO) added 0.11% or 0.20 points to end at 175.30 and Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) was down 0.17% or 0.08 points to 46.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO), which lost 9.26% or 0.860 points to trade at 8.430 in late trade. Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL) declined 7.22% or 0.070 points to end at 0.900 and Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) shed 7.00% or 0.320 points to 4.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 363 to 31 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 10.39 to $1285.29 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.71% or 0.35 to hit $49.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.26 to trade at $55.88 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.92% to 3.7206, while EUR/TRY rose 3.12% to 4.3727.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.51.
