Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Transport, Technology and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.78% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS), which rose 1.36% or 1.60 points to trade at 119.60 at the close. Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) added 1.21% or 0.090 points to end at 7.500 and Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA) was up 0.40% or 0.020 points to 4.990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which lost 8.33% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.320 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 7.94% or 0.050 points to end at 0.580 and Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) shed 7.14% or 0.070 points to 0.910.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 359 to 34 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.82% or 10.69 to $1308.19 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.97% or 1.00 to hit $51.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.27% or 1.28 to trade at $57.70 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.51% to 3.5479, while EUR/TRY rose 0.62% to 4.2035.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 92.45.
