Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Tourism, Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL), which rose 6.31% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.180 at the close. Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (IS:PETKM) added 4.08% or 0.180 points to end at 4.590 and ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) was up 4.44% or 0.240 points to 5.640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN), which lost 9.22% or 32.50 points to trade at 320.00 in late trade. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 7.16% or 0.360 points to end at 4.670 and Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) shed 2.63% or 0.12 points to 4.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 299 to 68 and 40 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.44% or 5.40 to $1217.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.84% or 1.26 to hit $69.75 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 1.01 to trade at $74.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 3.87% to 5.2790, while EUR/TRY rose 3.84% to 6.1063.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.15.
