Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Tourism, Information Technology and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.99% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 3.95% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.370 at the close. Borusan Mannesmann (IS:BRSAN) added 3.52% or 0.26 points to end at 7.65 and Parsan (IS:PARSN) was up 3.17% or 0.280 points to 9.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which lost 12.99% or 1.32 points to trade at 8.84 in late trade. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) declined 6.75% or 0.32 points to end at 4.42 and Cimsa (IS:CIMSA) shed 4.87% or 0.77 points to 15.03.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 201 to 131 and 75 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.06% or 0.70 to $1214.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $49.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.29 to trade at $50.01 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 2.9487, while EUR/TRY fell 0.08% to 3.2914.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 95.53.
