Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Electricity, Wood, Paper & Printing and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN), which rose 3.59% or 10.50 points to trade at 303.00 at the close. Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (IS:PETKM) added 2.91% or 0.200 points to end at 7.080 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) was up 2.38% or 0.210 points to 9.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE), which lost 7.43% or 0.390 points to trade at 4.860 in late trade. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) declined 6.69% or 0.390 points to end at 5.440 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) shed 3.51% or 1.14 points to 31.38.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 244 to 118 and 41 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.71% or 8.80 to $1250.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.28% or 0.16 to hit $56.98 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.79% or 0.50 to trade at $62.84 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.48% to 3.8293, while EUR/TRY fell 0.31% to 4.5060.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.85.
