Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Electricity, Information Technology and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER), which rose 6.71% or 1.03 points to trade at 16.38 at the close. Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) added 6.25% or 0.050 points to end at 0.850 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) was up 3.55% or 0.520 points to 15.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN), which lost 19.80% or 0.800 points to trade at 3.240 in late trade. Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) declined 4.87% or 0.330 points to end at 6.450 and Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) shed 4.78% or 0.93 points to 18.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 240 to 111 and 55 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.07% or 13.10 to $1213.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.91% or 0.55 to hit $60.12 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.60 to trade at $70.05 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.37% to 5.4806, while EUR/TRY rose 0.08% to 6.2243.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 96.56.
