Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS), which rose 9.49% or 0.580 points to trade at 6.690 at the close. Anadolu Cam Sanayi AS (IS:ANACM) added 5.58% or 0.150 points to end at 2.840 and Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN) was up 5.19% or 0.220 points to 4.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT), which lost 2.18% or 0.500 points to trade at 22.400 in late trade. Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) declined 1.99% or 0.30 points to end at 14.80 and Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) shed 1.98% or 0.66 points to 32.72.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 255 to 104 and 45 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.17% or 2.20 to $1320.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.24% or 0.15 to hit $61.78 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.08 to trade at $67.76 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.88% to 3.7483, while EUR/TRY fell 0.39% to 4.5299.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 91.61.
