Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Textile & Leather, Sports and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF), which rose 5.47% or 0.27 points to trade at 5.21 at the close. Pegasus (IS:PGSUS) added 3.00% or 0.360 points to end at 12.360 and Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO) was up 2.48% or 0.060 points to 2.480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which lost 5.19% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.190 in late trade. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) declined 3.82% or 1.36 points to end at 34.22 and Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) shed 3.81% or 0.32 points to 8.08.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 206 to 118 and 81 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.09% or 1.10 to $1254.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.20% or 0.61 to hit $50.18 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.86% or 0.45 to trade at $51.96 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.18% to 3.0895, while EUR/TRY fell 0.13% to 3.4050.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 97.94.
