Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE), which rose 8.19% or 0.390 points to trade at 5.150 at the close. Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) added 5.39% or 0.110 points to end at 2.150 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) was up 4.48% or 0.220 points to 5.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which lost 3.26% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.08 in late trade. Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) declined 3.20% or 3.30 points to end at 99.90 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) shed 3.19% or 0.60 points to 18.22.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 188 to 151 and 64 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.19% or 2.50 to $1288.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.12% or 0.80 to hit $72.17 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.46 to trade at $78.97 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.85% to 4.5740, while EUR/TRY rose 1.86% to 5.3855.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.61.
