Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Information Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.36% to hit a new 3-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aselsan (IS:ASELS), which rose 6.32% or 1.14 points to trade at 19.17 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS Class A (IS:ALCTL) added 6.24% or 0.530 points to end at 9.020 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.76% or 0.020 points to 0.440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which lost 2.78% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.800 in late trade. Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) declined 1.66% or 0.190 points to end at 11.230 and Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) shed 0.97% or 0.040 points to 4.100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 277 to 69 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.38% or 4.90 to $1278.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $50.87 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.16 to trade at $53.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.57% to 3.6522, while EUR/TRY fell 0.19% to 3.9300.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 99.53.
