Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Technology, Wood, Paper & Printing and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 9.19% or 2.04 points to trade at 24.24 at the close. Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) added 5.27% or 0.70 points to end at 13.99 and Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) was up 4.80% or 0.18 points to 3.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Izmir Demir Celik (IS:IZMDC), which lost 3.66% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.63 in late trade. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) declined 3.10% or 1.34 points to end at 41.84 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) shed 2.88% or 0.040 points to 1.350.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 271 to 68 and 71 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 2.19% or 28.35 to $1265.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.55% or 1.14 to hit $43.52 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.39% or 1.54 to trade at $43.83 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.42% to 2.9386, while EUR/TRY rose 0.35% to 3.3510.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 94.05.
