Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Transport and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Borusan Mannesmann (IS:BRSAN), which rose 7.04% or 0.63 points to trade at 9.58 at the close. Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) added 3.51% or 0.31 points to end at 9.15 and Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO) was up 3.23% or 1.580 points to 50.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which lost 3.03% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.960 in late trade. Nurol Gmyo (IS:NUGYO) declined 3.01% or 0.130 points to end at 4.190 and Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) shed 2.50% or 0.030 points to 1.170.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 196 to 137 and 74 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.94% or 11.25 to $1186.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.12% or 1.12 to hit $53.87 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.40% or 1.32 to trade at $56.40 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.80% to 3.8598, while EUR/TRY rose 0.08% to 4.1198.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.74% at 100.65.
