Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Insurance and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which rose 15.22% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.530 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) added 6.64% or 0.290 points to end at 4.660 and Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) was up 4.91% or 0.160 points to 3.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which lost 3.32% or 0.110 points to trade at 3.200 in late trade. Kordsa Global Endustriyel Iplik ve Kord Bezi Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KORDS) declined 1.51% or 0.13 points to end at 8.49 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) shed 1.44% or 0.030 points to 2.050.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 209 to 145 and 55 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.28% or 3.53 to $1248.57 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.67% or 0.80 to hit $48.69 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.41% or 0.71 to trade at $50.91 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.60% to 3.5511, while EUR/TRY fell 0.70% to 4.1329.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 94.00.
