Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Banking and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which rose 13.20% or 0.260 points to trade at 2.230 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) added 6.77% or 0.130 points to end at 2.050 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) was up 3.38% or 0.240 points to 7.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ), which lost 2.74% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.710 in late trade. Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS Class A (IS:ALCTL) declined 2.49% or 0.210 points to end at 8.210 and Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO) shed 1.82% or 1.100 points to 59.450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 189 to 139 and 76 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.16% or 2.05 to $1276.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.45% or 0.24 to hit $53.16 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.36 to trade at $55.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.98% to 3.6614, while EUR/TRY fell 0.83% to 3.8899.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 100.58.
