Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Tourism, Banking and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.47% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which rose 7.09% or 0.190 points to trade at 2.870 at the close. Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK) added 6.06% or 0.100 points to end at 1.750 and Turkiye Is Bankasi AS Class C (IS:ISCTR) was up 4.78% or 0.230 points to 5.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE), which lost 3.74% or 0.230 points to trade at 5.920 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.13% or 0.010 points to end at 0.310 and Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) shed 2.98% or 0.230 points to 7.490.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 239 to 118 and 51 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.25% or 3.25 to $1290.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.39% or 1.25 to hit $51.06 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.66% or 1.02 to trade at $60.30 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.61% to 5.3647, while EUR/TRY rose 0.49% to 6.1066.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 95.843.
