Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Banking and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which rose 8.33% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.520 at the close. Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) added 7.01% or 0.65 points to end at 9.92 and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) was up 5.41% or 1.72 points to 33.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO), which lost 1.58% or 0.050 points to trade at 3.120 in late trade. Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) declined 1.35% or 0.70 points to end at 51.00 and Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) shed 1.20% or 0.010 points to 0.820.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 265 to 87 and 49 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.30% or 3.70 to $1249.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.39% or 0.79 to hit $57.48 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.74% or 1.08 to trade at $63.28 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.61% to 3.8392, while EUR/TRY fell 0.89% to 4.5112.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.02.
