Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Leasing & Factoring, Telecoms and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.22% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS), which rose 11.36% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.960 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) added 5.91% or 0.340 points to end at 6.090 and Haci Omer Sabanci Holding AS (IS:SAHOL) was up 5.87% or 0.43 points to 7.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO), which lost 2.93% or 0.440 points to trade at 14.590 in late trade. Deva Holding AS (IS:DEVA) declined 1.16% or 0.040 points to end at 3.400 and Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) shed 1.04% or 0.060 points to 5.710.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 213 to 131 and 62 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.13% or 1.65 to $1289.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.99% or 1.51 to hit $52.02 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.34% or 1.38 to trade at $60.37 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.05% to 5.4364, while EUR/TRY fell 0.37% to 6.2111.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 95.528.
