Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Wood, Paper & Printing and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which rose 15.73% or 1.600 points to trade at 11.770 at the close. Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) added 7.88% or 0.160 points to end at 2.190 and Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) was up 5.49% or 0.050 points to 0.960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER), which lost 3.45% or 1.30 points to trade at 36.40 in late trade. Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) declined 3.11% or 0.070 points to end at 2.180 and Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB) shed 2.37% or 0.040 points to 1.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 215 to 142 and 53 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.30% or 4.00 to $1334.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $63.59 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $67.01 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.02% to 3.7877, while EUR/TRY fell 0.05% to 4.6582.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 89.90.
