Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Wood, Paper & Printing and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS), which rose 5.65% or 6.60 points to trade at 123.50 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 5.11% or 0.120 points to end at 2.470 and Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) was up 4.82% or 0.170 points to 3.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT), which lost 3.51% or 0.840 points to trade at 23.100 in late trade. Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) declined 2.99% or 0.120 points to end at 3.890 and Logo Yazilim Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:LOGO) shed 2.06% or 1.200 points to 57.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 233 to 126 and 48 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.49 to $1344.99 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.44% or 0.70 to hit $49.36 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.52% or 0.81 to trade at $54.19 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.32% to 3.4278, while EUR/TRY fell 0.13% to 4.0931.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 92.02.
