Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Technology and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.09% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS), which rose 7.42% or 0.87 points to trade at 12.60 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) added 6.94% or 0.10 points to end at 1.54 and Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE) was up 6.52% or 0.410 points to 6.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which lost 17.47% or 0.910 points to trade at 4.300 in late trade. ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) declined 6.42% or 0.340 points to end at 4.960 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) shed 4.02% or 2.35 points to 56.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 188 to 165 and 55 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.13% or 1.65 to $1310.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.48% or 1.32 to hit $54.63 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.93% or 1.18 to trade at $62.38 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.73% to 5.2681, while EUR/TRY fell 0.78% to 6.0185.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.580.
