West Australian gold explorer Torque Metals Ltd (ASX:TOR) has fielded high-grade gold assay results from recent drilling campaigns at its Paris Project.
The project sits on the Boulder-Lefroy Fault Zone, southeast of Kalgoorlie, and is strategically located 12 kilometres southeast of Goldfields' St Ives and 10 kilometres east of Karora's Higginsville in the Western Australian Goldfields.
High-grade gold
Initial assay results from drilling at Torque's Paris and Observation prospects have confirmed the presence of high-grade gold mineralised zones.
The four drill holes intersected multiple gold mineralised intervals, with notable intercepts including:
- 2.49 metres at 40.6 g/t gold from 167.8 metres
- 4.44 metres at 20.82 g/t from 170.3 metres; and
- 1.2 metres at 185 g/t from 174.7 metres.
A total of 52 holes across 6,128 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling has also been completed as part of the drilling program at the Paris, HHH and Observation prospects.
The program included extensional and infill drilling with assay results for this RC drilling program expected to be available soon.
More results due
In addition, a subsequent diamond drilling program consisting of 322 metres across three holes was conducted to test the extensions of the mineralised structure to the west of the Paris prospect. The results from this drilling campaign are also anticipated to be released this quarter.
Metallurgical test work has commenced on the diamond core samples obtained from the Paris and Observation prospects. The results of these tests, which are expected this quarter, will provide valuable insights into the characteristics of the gold mineralisation.
Torque has submitted a Program of Work (POW) for the next phase of drilling at its nine pre-Native Title Mining Licences within the Paris Gold Project. The company remains well-funded to continue its exploration activities at the Paris Project and aims to further expand the scale of the high-grade gold camp.
“Torque’s first-ever diamond drilling campaign at Paris and Observation prospects confirmed the existence of high-grade gold mineralised zones in all four drill holes," managing director Cristian Moreno said.
"The work produced impressive intercepts, including intervals such as 1.2 metres at 185 g/t gold and 2.49 metres at 40.6 g/t gold. These intercepts are part of a wider mineralised zone at Paris measuring 35 metres at 14.12 g/t gold, which highlights the substantial presence of gold within the Paris gold camp.
Well funded
“Torque is well-funded to continue driving activities at the Paris gold camp and enhance the scale of this growing gold project in the West Australian Goldfields, situated just 12 kilometres southeast of Gold Fields Ltd's St Ives Gold Mine and 10 kilometres east of Karora Resources Ltd's Higginsville Gold Operation.
"Torque has submitted a POW for the upcoming drilling phase and we anticipate resuming drilling operations as soon as feasible.
"Diamond core samples are currently undergoing metallurgical analysis.
“Torque also successfully completed additional RC drilling and diamond drilling programs, involving a combination of extensional and infill drilling at the Paris, HHH and Observation prospects. The company eagerly awaits the assay results from these programs, which are expected to be received over the next several weeks."
