Torque Metals Ltd (ASX:TOR) has received a raft of promising new findings from its flagship Paris Gold Project in Western Australia.
The company has discovered a new zone of shallow gold mineralisation and has reported additional high-grade results from its recent drill campaign.
Geological link
Importantly, these results speak to a geological link along the 2.5-kilometre-long corridor between the Paris, HHH and Observation prospects.
The assays confirm strong gold mineralisation at the three prospects, reinforcing the large gold camp concept, spanning an area of 2.5 kilometres by 1 kilometre, which remains open.
Drilling has successfully extended the Paris gold mineralisation by up to 50 metres from previous intersections.
Some of the best results include:
- 16.3 metres at 7.95 g/t gold from 272 metres, including 4.63 metres at 25.62 g/t from 277 metres;
- 10.79 metres at 3.64 g/t from 144 metres and 5.26 metres at 3.8 g/t from 166.58 metres within 27.84 metres at 2.19 g/t from 144 metres; and
- 9 metres at 2.6 g/t from 78 metres and 3 metres at 9.23 g/t from 105 metres within 48 metres at 1.37 g/t from 72 metres.
New shallow discovery
Additionally, a new shallow discovery was made in the previously untested 1.5-kilometre gap between the HHH and Paris pits.
This finding suggests a potential connection between the two prospects.
Mineralisation has been encountered along about 500 metres, with notable results including:
- 16 metres at 4.19 g/t gold from 66 metres, including 2 metres at 13.12 g/t from 72 metres and 2 metres at 18.91 g/t from 80 metres;
- 12 metres at 4.29 g/t from 69 metres, including 3 metres at 16.1 g/t from 69 metres; and
- 12 metres at 1.2 g/t from 99 metres, including 3 metres at 2.52 g/t from 99 metres.
A program of work has been submitted for a follow-up drilling phase to further explore and expand the mineralisation.
Torque managing director Cristian Moreno said: “Drilling at Torque's Paris Gold Project again unveiled strong gold values across Paris, HHH and Observation prospects.
Gold-rich and close to infrastructure
“Drilling north of the Paris pit revealed shallow gold intervals extending ~500 metres north-south, signifying a new gold discovery and suggesting a 1.5-kilometre connection between HHH and Paris pits," Moreno continued.
“Torque's exploration team has clearly identified a new gold-enriched zone, leveraging the successful lithostructural model, enhancing results from Paris, HHH and Observation prospects.
"Paris' proximity to infrastructure, including nearby processing plants, enhances the value of Torque's 13 pre-native title development-ready mining licences in our ~1,200-square-kilometre tenement holding.
“The immediate focus is on further defining shallow gold lodes and advancing Torque's first mineral resource estimate and maiden gold exploration target.”
