Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) Senior Vice President Drew Baglino announced Monday that he has left the carmaker.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Baglino said he made "the difficult decision to move on from Tesla after 18 years yesterday."
Baglino added: "I am so thankful to have worked with and learned from the countless incredibly talented people at Tesla over the years."
Baglino is the second top executive to leave the electric vehicle maker in eight months. He initially joined the company as a junior firmware/electrical engineer back in 2006. More recently, he has been leading engineering and technology in the development of Tesla's batteries, motors, and energy products.
The Tesla executive co-hosted earnings calls with Tesla CEO Elon Musk and shared the stage with Musk at multiple events, including Tesla's investor day over a year ago.
Musk responded to Baglino's post on X, writing: "Thanks for everything you've done for Tesla. Few have contributed as much as you."
In August, Zachary Kirkhorn stepped down as CFO of Tesla after 13 years.
