Terra Uranium Ltd (ASX:T92) (Terra Uranium Ltd (ASX:T92)) is looking to build on the success of recent exploration with a maiden diamond drilling campaign at Pasfield Lake project in the prolific Athabasca Basin of Saskatchewan, Canada.
A total of nine holes were drilled, targeting the upper 40 to 100 feet of sandstone at Pasfield, which lies on the eastern side of Athabasca Basin. Of these, seven returned a combination of uranium, pathfinder elements and clay.
Two of the seven holes are thought to have the greatest potential and represent what Terra Uranium called “robust stacked anomalies”.
TDEM survey
In addition to the drilling work, a ground TDEM survey was completed over a key drill target at Pasfield. Preliminary results indicate strong basement conductors, though the full set of results is yet to be released.
“T92 continues to build on structured exploration and result-driven successes towards a maiden diamond drilling program in the spring,” Terra Uranium chairman Andrew Vigar said.
“Strong accumulated geoscience results for Pasfield further substantiate our discovery model and allow us to zone in on the most prospective parts of the target.”
Spring drilling program
With the drilling and TDEM survey complete, the results will be used to generate priority targets for a maiden diamond drilling program.
ITL Diamond Drilling, which specialises in deep drilling, has been contracted to carry out the program, with the holes planned to reach an average depth of 1,200 metres.
Mobilisation of equipment and supplies has already been completed, and the program is scheduled to begin in the spring — usually between the months of March and May in Canada.
