Tempus Resources Ltd (ASX:TMR, TSX-V:TMRR) has completed the first phase of a rock sampling program at the Elizabeth Gold Project in Southern British Columbia aimed at expanding the mineralisation footprint beyond the current drilling zone.
The mineral exploration company collected 90 rock samples in three key target areas covering 20 square kilometres, where a 2021 airborne magnetics and radiometric survey had identified geophysical anomalies.
All samples have been dispatched to SGS Laboratories in Vancouver for assaying.
“This sampling program has the potential to significantly increase the overall footprint of the gold mineralisation at the Elizabeth Project and follows up on the 2021 airborne geophysics survey targets that identified magnetic lows associated with intrusive bodies prospective to host gold mineralisation,” Tempus Resources president and chief executive officer Jason Bahnsen said.

Elizabeth drilling deferred
Meanwhile, the planned 4,000-metre resource expansion drill program at Elizabeth has been deferred until after the Elizabeth-Blackdome mineral resource estimates have been completed.
Tempus had planned to commence the program in early July to further define the Blue Vein and No. 9 Vein, expand the Ella Zone and conduct infill drilling.
High-grade finds from the drilling were meant to be used to update the Elizabeth resource, which has not been upgraded since it was estimated at 206,000 ounces of gold (inferred) in 2009.
The company said additional structural modelling work is now required prior to the completion of the resource estimate due to the complexity of the mineralisation at the No. 9 and Blue veins.
To this end, SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc has been appointed to complete a structural mapping study at both the Elizabeth and Blackdome projects.
Thereafter, SRK will use results from the study to complete the resource estimate targeted for August/September.
