Tempest Minerals Ltd (ASX:TEM) has kicked off a sampling program at the Remorse Target (NYSE:TGT) within its Yalgoo Project in Western Australia in the hunt for copper, zinc, nickel and rare earths in soils covering more than 4 kilometres in strike.
The mineral exploration company plans to collect 500 soil samples in under two weeks in the hopes of extending the target’s known surface geochemical anomalies.
This wide-spaced sampling program is also the pre-cursor to sampling programs at targets in the southeastern tenement extensional area, including the newly-acquired Sanity target along strike of Warriedar Resources’ emerging Rothchild gold discovery.

Heritage partnership
The Yalgoo Project covers 1,000 square kilometres in the Murchison region of Western Australia, about 500 kilometres north of Perth, and has exhibited a proven potential for critical and precious metals in the past.
In 2022, Tempest completed a number of drill programs and intersected multiple zones of polymetallic mineralisation, including copper, nickel and rare earth elements (REE).
A parallel surface sampling program carried out in the eastern portion of the project returned an exceptionally coherent copper, zinc, nickel and REE anomaly, now known as the Remorse target.
In conjunction with the soil sampling program, Tempest is working to strike a partnership with the Badimia people, the traditional owners of the region, to seek cultural and heritage advice.
