Investing.com – Sweden equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 fell 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN), which rose 1.24% or 7.5 points to trade at 610.0 at the close. Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA) added 1.17% or 3.6 points to end at 310.2 and Skanska AB ser. B (ST:SKAb) was up 0.76% or 1.60 points to 213.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which lost 3.26% or 1.23 points to trade at 36.55 in late trade. Alfa Laval AB (ST:ALFA) declined 1.62% or 2.9 points to end at 175.9 and Swedbank AB ser A (ST:SWEDa) shed 1.46% or 3.1 points to 209.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 392 to 308 and 91 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.54% or 1.13 to $43.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.28% or 1.07 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.04 to trade at $1245.66 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.38% to 9.7836, while USD/SEK rose 0.63% to 8.7981.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 97.50.
