Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 added 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA), which rose 4.02% or 14.6 points to trade at 377.8 at the close. Svenska Cellulosa SCA AB B (ST:SCAb) added 2.61% or 1.9 points to end at 74.6 and Essity AB B (ST:ESSITYb) was up 1.61% or 3.60 points to 227.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson Class B (ST:ERICb), which lost 3.77% or 3.07 points to trade at 78.39 in late trade. ASSA ABLOY AB ser. B (ST:ASSAb) declined 1.39% or 2.2 points to end at 159.4 and Sandvik AB (ST:SAND) shed 1.36% or 1.85 points to 134.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 339 to 291 and 46 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.15% or 0.08 to $52.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $61.41 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.40 to trade at $1289.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.00% to 10.2330, while USD/SEK rose 0.26% to 8.8894.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 95.023.
