Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) has confirmed the presence of lead and silver mineralisation through rock chip sampling at Mt Conspicuous prospect of the Kooline Project in Western Australia.
Reconnaissance rock chip sampling and mapping returned high-grade results, including:
- 16.2% lead and 41 g/t silver; and
- 14.2% lead and 55 g/t silver
Surefire says these results confirm Mt Conspicuous as a high-priority exploration target and plans are already underway for further geochemical sampling, ground-based electromagnetic (EM) surveying and exploration drilling.
“Potential to yield high-grade discoveries”
“Reconnaissance sampling in the Mt Conspicuous area supports Surefire’s interpretation that the Mt Conspicuous AEM geophysical anomaly is associated with an extensive corridor of high-grade lead-silver mineralisation,” Surefire Resources CEO Cain Fogarty said.
“These results show Kooline has the potential to yield high-grade discoveries in this under-explored historical mining field.
“The next steps at Kooline are detailed mapping and sampling, and consideration is being given to a detailed ground-based EM survey to refine the coinciding geophysical and geochemical anomalies, ahead of drilling.”
