The company has also engaged a reverse circulation (RC) drilling rig to complete 2,500 metres of drilling on new discoveries Marshall and Fender, and on untested mobile metal ion (MMI) gold anomalies.

Surefire intends to step-out drilling to the north and south on both the Marshall and Fender mineralised structures, with a particular focus on:

  • wide downhole mineralisation widths;
  • high-grade gold intersections; and
  • excellent metallurgy characteristics.

SRN has begun column test work on diamond drill cores recovered from a drilling program at Yidby in November last year.

The test work will be completed in two stages as follows:

  • Stage 1 – a total of four samples of quartered diamond core will be crushed and leached at a range of crush sizes – 4 millimetres (mm), 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. The samples will then be leached to provide a crush grade recovery curve.
  • Stage 2 – column leach testing of a total of 40 kilograms of diamond drill core.
  • These tests will provide important gold recovery data for Yidby's mineralisation.
