Strickland Metals Ltd (ASX:STK) has extended mineralisation at Medenovac prospect of the Rogozna Gold and Base Metals Project in Serbia a further 150 metres northwest from the discovery hole in the latest round of drilling.
The program also generated very broad intersections of mineralisation, up to 128.5 metres at 1.4 g/t gold equivalent from 298 metres.
Strickland has resumed drilling at the prospect this week, planning to complete 10,000 metres of diamond drilling with the aim of delivering a maiden mineral resource estimate by early next year.
Thick zones of mineralisation
“We are extremely pleased to return such positive numbers from our first results at Rogozna,” Strickland Metals chair Anthony McClure said.
“The Medenovac Prospect continues to deliver strong drilling results, with multiple thick zones of gold-copper-zinc-silver mineralisation intersected, including 128.5 metres at 1.4 g/t gold equivalent from 298 metres (including 40.1 metres at 1.9 g/t gold equivalent) in ZRSD24148.
“This intersection is a down-dip extension of the mineralisation encountered in ZRSD21136, which intersected a phenomenal 352.1 metres at 2.1 g/t gold equivalent (including 97.7 metres at 5.1 g/t gold equivalent) from 240 metres.
“Of further significance is the intersection in ZRSD24147: 63.4 metres at 1.3 g/t gold equivalent from 244.2 metres (including 14 metres at 2.8 g/t gold equivalent) and 86 metres at 1 g/t gold equivalent from 418 metres.
“This hole was drilled approximately 150 metres to the northwest of the discovery zone, representing a sizeable strike extension of the polymetallic skarn-hosted mineralisation.”
The full results for the two drill holes at Medenovac include:
ZRSD24147:
- 63.4 metres at 1.3 g/t gold equivalent (0.8 g/t gold, 0.2% copper and 1.7 g/t silver) from 244.2 metres including 14 metres at 2.8 g/t gold equivalent (1.6 g/t gold, 0.6% copper and 2.5 g/t silver) from 285.6 metres; and
- 86 metres at 1.0 g/t gold equivalent (0.4 g/t gold, 0.1% copper, 0.5% zinc and 4.1 g/t silver) from 418 metres.
ZRSD24148:
- 128.5 metres at 1.4 g/t gold equivalent (0.3 g/t gold, 0.1% copper, 1.3% zinc and 8.8 g/t silver) from 298 metres including 40.1 metres at 1.9 g/t gold equivalent (0.3 g/t gold, 0.1% copper, 2.5% zinc and 4.8 g/t silver) from 386.5 metres.
Toward maiden resource estimate
“Further drilling at Medenovac is underway, with about 10,000 metres planned to systematically test the prospective skarn volume and demonstrate the controls and geometry of the higher-grade zones of mineralisation in preparation for a maiden mineral resource estimate,” McClure continued.
“Drilling is also continuing to proceed well at Shanac, with two rigs currently focusing on the core of that deposit.
“A fourth diamond rig is scheduled to arrive on site by the end of June, with that rig dedicated to testing the extensive target pipeline, including multiple compelling Copper-Gold porphyry targets.”
The company says it remains well funded to pursue its exploration goals, with about $51.4 million in cash and Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) shares in hand at the end of the March quarter.
