Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Information Technology and Trading sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) added 12.86% or 4.90 points to end at 43.00 and Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC (CM:CHOT) was up 11.20% or 2.80 points to 27.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO), which fell 12.50% or 200.00 points to trade at 1400.00 at the close. Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA) declined 11.82% or 7.80 points to end at 58.20 and PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) was down 9.09% or 0.10 points to 1.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 140 to 91 and 15 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.66% or 0.32 to $47.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.31% or 0.70 to hit $52.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.44% or 4.80 to trade at $1092.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.16% to 207.620, while USD/LKR fell 0.14% to 133.415.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 96.99.
