Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Land & Property, Plantations and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. On’ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL) added 10.00% or 5.00 points to end at 55.00 and Commercial Leasing & Finance PLC (CM:COLE) was up 9.37% or 0.300 points to 3.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which lost 18.70% or 11.20 points to trade at 48.70 in late trade. Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) declined 17.55% or 14.90 points to end at 70.00 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) shed 16.67% or 3.20 points to 16.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 52 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.32% or 0.17 to $53.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.31% or 0.17 to hit $55.38 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.14% or 1.55 to trade at $1138.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.02% to 186.005, while USD/LKR fell 0.11% to 148.860.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 102.86.
