Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Services, Land & Property and Motors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.28% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT), which rose 17.33% or 13.00 points to trade at 88.00 at the close. Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) added 14.63% or 1.20 points to end at 9.40 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL), which lost 11.72% or 11.60 points to trade at 87.40 in late trade. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) declined 11.10% or 149.80 points to end at 1200.00 and Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) shed 11.02% or 6.60 points to 53.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 59 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.36% or 0.19 to $52.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.39% or 0.21 to hit $54.25 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.15 to trade at $1132.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.08% to 183.460, while USD/LKR fell 0.06% to 148.620.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 102.84.
