Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Construction & Engineering and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 57.14% or 0.40 points to trade at 1.10 at the close. Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 23.97% or 20.30 points to end at 105.00 and Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV) was up 23.77% or 14.50 points to 75.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which lost 15.63% or 25.00 points to trade at 135.00 in late trade. Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) declined 11.20% or 2.90 points to end at 23.00 and Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) shed 9.52% or 2.00 points to 19.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 82 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.92% or 0.37 to $40.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.89% or 0.37 to hit $41.91 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.81% or 10.30 to trade at $1254.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.65% to 210.285, while USD/LKR fell 0.06% to 145.215.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 95.06.
