Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Palm Oil and Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) added 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL) was up 9.22% or 2.70 points to 32.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH), which lost 15.12% or 2.60 points to trade at 14.60 in late trade. Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) declined 13.16% or 3.50 points to end at 23.10 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) shed 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 110 to 64 and 65 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.58% or 0.28 to $47.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.68% or 0.34 to hit $49.78 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 6.09 to trade at $1291.41 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.21% to 196.725, while USD/LKR fell 0.24% to 152.425.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 96.91.
