Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Motors and Plantations sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which rose 33.33% or 0.300 points to trade at 1.200 at the close. CT Land Development PLC (CM:CTLD) added 17.61% or 7.50 points to end at 50.10 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 14.29% or 5.00 points to 40.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included On’ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL), which lost 18.74% or 10.40 points to trade at 45.10 in late trade. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) declined 16.67% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG) shed 11.76% or 4.00 points to 30.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 65 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.23% or 0.12 to $52.93 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.22% or 0.12 to hit $55.70 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1212.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.32% to 189.945, while USD/LKR rose 0.11% to 150.610.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 99.61.
