Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Diversified Holdings and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.77% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which rose 24.90% or 12.70 points to trade at 63.70 at the close. Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT) added 20.62% or 82.90 points to end at 485.00 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tal Lanka Hotels PLC (CM:TAJ), which lost 11.52% or 1.90 points to trade at 14.60 in late trade. C W Mackie PLC (CM:CWM) declined 9.40% or 4.40 points to end at 42.40 and Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) shed 7.88% or 8.90 points to 104.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 74 and 54 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.27% or 0.94 to $74.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.98% or 0.76 to hit $78.06 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.20 to trade at $1247.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.56% to 209.150, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 158.510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.41.
