Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Motors and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) added 14.77% or 4.40 points to end at 34.20 and Asia Asset Finance Ltd (CM:ASAS) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT), which lost 26.83% or 110.00 points to trade at 300.00 in late trade. On’ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL) declined 15.38% or 14.60 points to end at 80.30 and Laxapana Batteries PLC (CM:LITE) shed 9.65% or 1.10 points to 10.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 75 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.20% or 0.14 to $68.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.52% or 0.38 to hit $73.82 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.40 to trade at $1230.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.20% to 209.835, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 159.540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.25.
