Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Beverages & Tobacco and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.31%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB), which rose 13.60% or 25.90 points to trade at 216.30 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) was up 10.91% or 126.50 points to 1286.10 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which lost 16.60% or 286.60 points to trade at 1440.00 in late trade. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) declined 15.70% or 224.50 points to end at 1205.10 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) shed 10.26% or 4.00 points to 35.00.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 116 to 104 and 54 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.28% or 0.15 to $52.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.40% or 0.24 to hit $59.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1268.70 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was down 0.71% to 201.030, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 153.550.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.82.
