Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Investment Trust and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.19% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) added 14.84% or 2.70 points to end at 20.90 and Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT) was up 13.14% or 11.60 points to 99.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which lost 22.58% or 350.00 points to trade at 1200.00 in late trade. Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) declined 13.98% or 8.40 points to end at 51.70 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) shed 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 69 and 67 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.91% or 0.53 to $57.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.79% or 0.50 to hit $62.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.28 to trade at $1293.12 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.09% to 204.600, while USD/LKR rose 0.12% to 153.790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 93.02.
