Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Trading, Stores & Supplies and Palm Oil sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Sinhaputhra Finance PLC (CM:SFL) added 16.39% or 2.00 points to end at 14.20 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 14.29% or 0.1000 points to 0.8000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which lost 13.82% or 10.10 points to trade at 63.00 in late trade. Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) declined 10.78% or 1.10 points to end at 9.10 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) shed 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 108 to 68 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.55% or 0.28 to $50.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.53% or 0.30 to hit $55.99 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.36% or 17.86 to trade at $1298.54 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.49% to 206.080, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 152.750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 92.23.
