Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Stores & Supplies and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which rose 18.76% or 22.90 points to trade at 145.00 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 17.50% or 2.10 points to end at 14.10 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU), which lost 8.30% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.10 in late trade. Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) declined 7.11% or 3.60 points to end at 47.00 and Sinhaputhra Finance PLC (CM:SFL) shed 6.29% or 0.90 points to 13.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 139 to 57 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.25% or 0.60 to $47.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.28% or 0.65 to hit $50.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.02% or 12.77 to trade at $1235.73 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.04% to 196.775, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 152.620.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 99.00.
