Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Diversified Holdings, Footwear & Textile and Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH), which rose 28.57% or 4.00 points to trade at 18.00 at the close. J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) added 21.15% or 89.90 points to end at 515.00 and Kalpitiya Beach Resort PLC (CM:CITK) was up 15.79% or 0.600 points to 4.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which lost 24.81% or 3350.00 points to trade at 10150.00 in late trade. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) declined 13.03% or 10.80 points to end at 72.10 and Trade Finance & Investments PLC (CM:TFIL) shed 10.89% or 4.90 points to 40.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 108 to 78 and 56 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.58% or 0.26 to $44.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.94% or 0.44 to hit $47.36 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 4.39 to trade at $1258.99 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.12% to 195.145, while USD/LKR rose 0.12% to 152.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 97.31.
