Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which rose 18.53% or 9.30 points to trade at 59.50 at the close. Taprobane Holdings PLC (CM:TAPR) added 10.20% or 0.500 points to end at 5.400 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 9.26% or 3.90 points to 46.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which lost 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 in late trade. Singhe Hospitals Ltd (CM:SIGH) declined 9.52% or 0.200 points to end at 1.900 and Dolphin Hotels PLC (CM:STAF) shed 8.84% or 3.20 points to 33.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 141 to 55 and 47 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.10% or 1.41 to $44.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.99% or 1.44 to hit $46.67 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.45 to trade at $1220.85 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.37% to 198.415, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 153.690.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 95.77.
