Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 23.74% or 351.70 points to trade at 1130.00 in late trade. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) declined 8.37% or 92.30 points to end at 1010.00 and Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) shed 8.06% or 1.70 points to 19.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 79 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.63% or 0.30 to $48.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.36% or 0.18 to hit $50.38 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.30 to trade at $1247.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 200.405, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 153.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 93.92.
