Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Plantations and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which rose 13.33% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.700 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) was up 10.80% or 1.90 points to 19.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which lost 14.82% or 12.20 points to trade at 70.10 in late trade. Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) declined 8.54% or 1.40 points to end at 15.00 and Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) shed 6.25% or 0.10 points to 1.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 60 and 50 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.41% or 0.21 to $50.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.62% or 0.32 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.95 to trade at $1265.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.38% to 180.235, while USD/LKR rose 0.44% to 147.060.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 98.49.
