Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 13.33% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.700 at the close. Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL) added 13.30% or 12.90 points to end at 109.90 and Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) was up 11.68% or 7.10 points to 67.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO), which lost 6.40% or 4.80 points to trade at 70.20 in late trade. Namunukula Plantations PLC (CM:NAMU) declined 6.28% or 4.70 points to end at 70.20 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) shed 5.54% or 74.80 points to 1275.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 56 and 54 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.55% or 0.27 to $49.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.80% or 0.40 to hit $50.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.34% or 4.35 to trade at $1270.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.34% to 179.900, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 146.995.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 98.56.
