Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Information Technology and Palm Oil sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was up 13.43% or 46.30 points to 391.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which lost 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 in late trade. Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) declined 15.43% or 5.20 points to end at 28.50 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) shed 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 96 to 77 and 56 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.31% or 0.20 to $64.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.18% or 0.89 to hit $74.40 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.40 to trade at $1294.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.31% to 212.000, while USD/LKR fell 0.11% to 158.570.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 94.01.
