Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Land & Property and Plantations sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.16%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 24.32% or 234.70 points to trade at 1199.90 at the close. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) added 20.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.200 and Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA) was up 19.86% or 28.00 points to 169.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL), which lost 14.04% or 9.80 points to trade at 60.00 in late trade. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) shed 8.38% or 3.20 points to 35.00.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 74 and 54 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.50% or 0.25 to $49.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.78% or 0.41 to hit $53.11 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.56 to trade at $1285.86 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was down 0.03% to 199.130, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 153.200.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 93.60.
